Here's a little snippet of the world of developmental psychology. I really like the concept of the Hierarchy of Needs that Abraham Maslow put together in the mid 20th century. It really brings together a simplified approach to what we desire as humans throughout our life span.

I suck at jiu jitsu, I get beaten up a lot, submitted every single time I turn up and yet... I can't stop turning up to learn, better myself and have a great time doing it.
I also really sucked at lifting weights at one point, but now after over a decade of training on average 3-4 times every week, I'm very good at it.
When it comes to results, we want to achieve them maximally and as quick as possible only to sometimes be let down. But what if you took a different approach and thought of yourself as a white belt, imagine the curiosity you would have and the willingness to get better.

How simple our problems were when we were a teenager. When the toughest part of the day should've been what we were to choose for lunch from the tuck shop... When in fact, we poured all our energy into identity crisis, avoiding embarrassing situations and does my friend still like me??
Telling a teenager that they are "enough" is not really something that gets across to them, they must do. For this podcast I've gone into the how and why of what builds insecurity in teens.
